Kind of ironic to be in the heart of one of the most technologically innovative places on the planet and not be able to make a reliable phone call. Sure enough, I had trouble on campus too. One other thing - my ATT cell service was awful, and when I mentioned it to the front desk, they said it's a problem all over Palo Alto. The location is good, only a few minutes from campus and nice food and shopping. Only one negative about the room - the beds are on platforms and I stubbed my toes every time I walked around it. It's a little thing, but I was happy that weren't just giving lip service to water conservation. Most hotels have those little tags that tell you to hang your towels if you want to use them again, but when you do, they change them out anyway. The hot breakfast is nice and it was a little different every morning. Everything was spotlessly clean, and I appreciated having bottles of water in the room because they use a water softener, so the tap water is kind of funky to drink. The beds are comfortable and the rooms well-appointed, and they have an amazing number of tv channels, if you want to spend time holed up watching the tube. Had I not been traveling alone, I might have felt differently, but I much preferred the smaller room in the front right off the parking lot where there were people. It was dark and gloomy, and having two doors into the room, especially one from the back secluded garden, didn't feel especially secure. ![]() I was given a room with two queens in the back part of the hotel by mistake, and while some people here have mentioned how much they like those rooms, I asked to move. I spent three nights here on business, and other than a small snafu on check-in, which was quickly fixed, it was great. If this may be an issue then ask for rooms on the ground level.ĭear guest, Thank you so much for such a detailed, thoughtful and kind review. Carrying the luggage up and down was a bit of a challenge but we managed. Ana, the staff member on duty there was very friendly and helpful. I was told that normally they would serve eggs, ham and bacon but during our stay the kitchen was under renovation so they catered for some hot wraps. Coffee comes with choices of brands like Starbucks and all. Although complimentary, there was hot oatmeal, fresh cut fruit, selection of muffins and other baked products. The kind lady really persuaded me into booking one suite only which was a bit more than 200 a night. It made economic sense but I was worried. The staff member on duty suggested one suite with two rooms. Our family has a total of 5 so I asked for two rooms. There wasn't one thing that we didn't like. ![]()
