![]() ![]() Hotels near Standford Online University.Hotels near Foothill-De Anza Community College District.Metropolitan Oakland Intl Airport Hotels.Hotels with Complimentary Breakfast in Palo Alto.I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again next time I'm in the area. Kind of ironic to be in the heart of one of the most technologically innovative places on the planet and not be able to make a reliable phone call. Sure enough, I had trouble on campus too. One other thing - my ATT cell service was awful, and when I mentioned it to the front desk, they said it's a problem all over Palo Alto. The location is good, only a few minutes from campus and nice food and shopping. Only one negative about the room - the beds are on platforms and I stubbed my toes every time I walked around it. It's a little thing, but I was happy that weren't just giving lip service to water conservation. Most hotels have those little tags that tell you to hang your towels if you want to use them again, but when you do, they change them out anyway. The hot breakfast is nice and it was a little different every morning. Everything was spotlessly clean, and I appreciated having bottles of water in the room because they use a water softener, so the tap water is kind of funky to drink. The beds are comfortable and the rooms well-appointed, and they have an amazing number of tv channels, if you want to spend time holed up watching the tube. Had I not been traveling alone, I might have felt differently, but I much preferred the smaller room in the front right off the parking lot where there were people. It was dark and gloomy, and having two doors into the room, especially one from the back secluded garden, didn't feel especially secure. ![]() I was given a room with two queens in the back part of the hotel by mistake, and while some people here have mentioned how much they like those rooms, I asked to move. I spent three nights here on business, and other than a small snafu on check-in, which was quickly fixed, it was great. Best regards, Ricardo Berrospi General Manager THE ZEN HOTEL We sincerely appreciate your business and hope to see you again soon. I can share with you that Anna was thrilled with your review! We look forward to have a chance to welcome you again in a future occasion. It is always nice when a member our staff is recognized by name. Once completed, we will offer a more comfortable space, along with additional menu options. I am glad to inform you that we are just about to be done with the renovation of our breakfast area. Thank you for your comments about our breakfast. We make special efforts to take our time to deliver as much information as needed when you call us, and to offer room options and promotional rates based on your specific criteria. I am especially glad to see you pointing out that the recommendation by our staff member was welcomed by you and your family. Your comments have reached all of our staff and we are very glad to learn that your experience at The Zen Hotel was one to remember. (Ana even offered to carry some for us!) If this may be an issue then ask for rooms on the ground level.ĭear guest, Thank you so much for such a detailed, thoughtful and kind review. Carrying the luggage up and down was a bit of a challenge but we managed. Ana, the staff member on duty there was very friendly and helpful. I was told that normally they would serve eggs, ham and bacon but during our stay the kitchen was under renovation so they catered for some hot wraps. Coffee comes with choices of brands like Starbucks and all. Although complimentary, there was hot oatmeal, fresh cut fruit, selection of muffins and other baked products. The kind lady really persuaded me into booking one suite only which was a bit more than 200 a night. It made economic sense but I was worried. The staff member on duty suggested one suite with two rooms. Our family has a total of 5 so I asked for two rooms. There wasn't one thing that we didn't like. ![]()

![]() :small_blue_diamond: Casting :small_blue_diamond: If you are standing in the water to mine the adjacent obsidian, be careful to move the water source block periodically so it doesn't reach its limit and push you into undrenched lava. Then when the obsidian blocks adjacent to the hole are mined, water immediately flows into the space to drench the lava beneath before it can burn the mined block. The solution is to mine a single block (which may be a stone or dirt block next to the obsidian slab) and place water in the hole. Note that the layer of obsidian thus created will often have more lava underneath, which will frequently destroy the mined blocks before they can be collected. Seeming natural deposits of obsidian in the Overworld were created by water falling on lava in this way. The simplest method for obtaining obsidian is to find a lava pool, pour water on it, and then mine it with a diamond pickaxe. :small_blue_diamond: In-place drenching and mining :small_blue_diamond: ![]() Lava drenching is not a renewable method of farming obsidian, as lava source blocks are not a renewable resource. Lava is much more plentiful in the Nether, but as water cannot be placed there it is necessary to bring it back to the Overworld in buckets for conversion to obsidian. Lava springs typically contain only a single source block, which is not particularly useful when the intention is to "farm" obsidian. In the Overworld lava primarily occurs deep underground, but can sometimes be found in small lakes at or near the surface. :small_blue_diamond: Lava drenching :small_blue_diamond: Haste II further reduces the time to mine each block to about 1.875 seconds per block, or 32 blocks a minute. With Haste, this is reduced to around 2.14 seconds per block, or 28 blocks in a minute. Using Efficiency V without a haste effect, it takes about 2.55 seconds to mine each block, resulting in being able to mine approximately 23.5 blocks of obsidian in a minute. With a beacon, the Haste and Haste II effects can be used to reduce mining time further. Below are the mining times for each level of enchantment. :small_blue_diamond: Mining :small_blue_diamond:Įnchanting the pickaxe with 'Efficiency' will speed up the process (by +30% speed/level). ![]() A more advanced (and renewable) method is to take advantage of Nether portals being created when no destination portal is in range or the recreation of the 5×5 platform when using the End portal. The simplest method is to pour water over lava source blocks, either in a naturally-occurring lava pool or transported in buckets. Obsidian does not spawn naturally with the terrain (except in the End), instead being created by natural events or player action. In emailing the crew from AERO I asked what was the probability of customizing one of these great vehicles, and the answer I got was simple. With that said you can possibly understand why this team created an enclosed version of the already great original. I personally have been in contact with the designers of the AERO 3S, and they love everything about the T-Rex over in Canada, where their home base is. To compliment the look even further the AERO 3S T-Rex comes with 180 degree scissor style doors for easy access getting in or out. The floating front wheel arches, just blend into the body that just sits no more than a few inches away. It sports severely angular lines that seem to make your mouth water as you try to follow every single one to its final resting point. Even the power for the AERO 3S is great, and all, I love the look of the AERO 3S. The 1352cc four cylinder, four stroke engine still remains in the back, acting like a jet pack for Buck Rogers or something. This version is a completely enclosed design that allows the driver to now drive in weather that was too harsh to be in, while motoring around in the open air model. It looks like nothing else on the road – in fact, short of a T-Rex itself walking down the high street, nothing will attract more stares from passers-by than this amazing trike. The one I fell in love with is the remodeled AERO 3S T-Rex. The brakes proved powerful, and despite lacking ABS, did not lock up too easily.Ĭrucially, the car is well engineered and built. Our model had a 1,200cc engine (final versions will get a 1,400cc unit), and acceleration was awesome, even with the lesser motor. Quick movement with the steering is essential to correct the T-Rex, and to make fast progress you need the kind of skills required to control a sports bike or racing car. In any gear up to fourth, even the slightest over-exuberance got the rear wheel spinning, and tailslides were all too easily created. The clutch is required for downshifts, but on the wet roads of our test track, it was the throttle which needed the greatest care. To change gear, you simply lift off the throttle and pull the lever back to upshift. On the move, the motorbike technology is far easier to use. The Kawasaki’s instrument binnacle has been transferred straight across, while the gearlever gives you control over a six-speed sequential motorcycle transmission.Īlthough the conventional steering wheel and pedal set-up seem familiar, with a single chain-driven rear wheel – plus 190bhp in a vehicle that weighs only 430kg – there is nothing normal about the driving experience. And once you clamber into the curved bucketseat, the T-Rex’s bike origins are clear to see. ![]() The inventors claim it offers all the thrills of motorcycling, but in a safer and ever so slightly more practical package. Naming a car after one of the most dangerous creatures ever to roam the earth may seem a strange idea, but then the T-Rex is no normal motor – in fact, it’s a three-wheeled trike with a fearsome bite.Ĭombining the engine and gearbox from a Kawasaki sports bike with a bespoke chassis has surely created one of the wackiest road vehicles you can buy. However, the T-Rex is well engineered and very fast – although it does have a hefty price tag. In terms of handling, a three-wheeler will never be a dynamic match for a four-wheeled car. The T-Rex is a crazy machine that will scare some but thrill others. ![]() ![]() ![]() Also called modern windows, the gridless look is becoming increasingly popular. While window grids can add an attractive visual element to your home, many people prefer doing away with them completely. They’re a great way to add a dynamic visual element to your windows to give your home some extra character. Diamondĭiamond windows are similar to grid-style window grilles but turned 45 degrees, so the grilles run diagonally. ![]() There are also three-over-one styles for a slightly different twist. Two-over-one window grilles are just what they sound like - two window panes over a single window pane, using a single grille on the upper half of the window. They’re a great way to highlight a natural landscape. This type has grilles that run a few inches from the perimeter of the window, creating a kind of frame. Prairie window grilles are the perfect choice for anyone who likes a more traditional design. Their design is characterized by a single horizontal grille divided by two vertical grilles. They’re the style you probably think of first when you imagine multi-pane windows. If you’re going for a homey, down-to-earth look, colonial window grids may be what you’re looking for. If you’re not sure what style will best fit your home, take a look at these options. There’s a wide range of window grid patterns out there, from the very simple to the ornate and complex. However, whether you include them in your home is totally up to you. Today, glass can be produced in larger, stronger panes, rendering structural window grids unnecessary. They were necessary because larger panes of glass were difficult to produce. While you probably know that window grids can make a dramatic visual impact, did you know they used to serve a practical purpose? Their original function was to hold together multi-pane windows, creating a surface that would keep out the weather. Learn more about the original use of window grids and how their role in the home has changed over the years.
